Cafe Blanc opened on May 1, 2025, just in time to be ready for guests coming to Haviland for the Barclay College graduation weekend (May 2- 4). For new owner of the downtown coffee shop (formerly called MWL Coffee Shop) Adrian White, the grand opening was a full circle moment.

On Tuesday, May 6, Skyline hosted its home meet at the beautiful Bill Keller Family Sports Complex. As the schedule tradition dictates, it is always one of the last regular-season competitions before the Heart of the Plains League (HOPL) meet and Regionals. This year, HOPL will be hosted by South Barber High School at Kiowa on Thursday, May 15, and Regionals will be the following Thursday, May 22, at Kiowa County High School in Greensburg.

2025 Spring commencement exercises at Northwestern Oklahoma State University will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at Ranger Field. In case of inclement weather, the spring commencement exercises will be held in Percefull Fieldhouse.
The Pratt Pilot Club is planning for a big crowd May 10, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to help celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Pilot Express Train at Sixth Street Park in Pratt. There will be lots of games, refreshments and free train rides for everyone!
The Pratt High School softball team has begun to find a groove as they progress through the remainder of the regular season. This past week, the Lady Greenbacks matched up against Dodge City and Hesston in two home doubleheaders at Green Sports Complex.
