A giant anteater is back at Lee Richardson Zoo in Garden City, Kansas. A young female arrived from the Fresno Chaffee Zoo in Fresno, California, earlier this month. 3-year-old “Aji,” or “Chili” as she’s known, has been in routine quarantine behind the scenes as she adjusts to her new surroundings. She was recently introduced to a holding area adjacent to the habitat and will debut in the larger area in the Zoo’s South American Pampas this week. Chili will join three greater rheas, 2 of whom arrived just this past fall.

At its June 2 regular meeting, the Pratt City Commission heard a complaint from Pratt resident Deborah Hamilton regarding aggressive animals in the city. Deborah addressed the commission during the open agenda portion of the meeting. She has had problems with multiple successive renters in a neighboring property owning aggressive dogs and failing to keep them contained. Two of these renters owned pitbull terriers and one owned an aggressive husky.
June 3, 2025 was one of our very favorite days of the year when the University of Texas, El Paso pharmacy students come as an exchange program with the KU pharmacy students! We thoroughly enjoyed meeting, visiting, and sharing some projects with them again this year.
The state volleyball and basketball formats will look different starting next school year, and the shot clock is officially in the postseason. Those items were approved during the KSHSAA Executive Board and Board of Director Meetings on Thursday.
