Mardi Gras Ball a success for museum

The inaugural Mardi Gras Ball to Benefit the Filley was a huge success in every way thanks to the extremely hardworking team of volunteers who tirelessly put it all together, the generous community partners who donated financially, and the wonderful artists who contributed their work to the live and silent art auctions.The big event was held in the National Guard Armory in Pratt on the evening of February 24 from 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Purple Martins return to Kansas

In a sure sign that spring is not far behind, the first Purple Martins of the year have been spotted in Kansas.The birds were seen on March 3 in Olpe, Kansas by a Purple Martin enthusiast – one of many throughout the eastern and central United States who track and report on the birds’ annual migration on behalf of the Purple Martin Conservation Association.
