There is a hero living among the residents of Pratt, Kansas. His name is Gale J. Rose. You may know him best as a major figure in the late Pratt Music Theater. Some of you may remember his parents, the late Marion and Leora Rose. Still others may remember his long contribution to the Pratt Tribune as a reporter, or his one-act Christmas performance.
Because of the risk of falling on stairs, a Pratt couple who wishes to remain anonymous has made the difficult decision to leave their home of 45 years.
What began as a local wrestling camp 10 years ago has grown into a cherished summer tradition in Pratt. This year from July 30 through August 2 the Pratt Wrestling Club’s ‘State Champ Camp’ hosted 75 registered participants, which was more than twice as many as in 2024. Young wrestlers, coaches, parents, and camp alumni joined in what is an inspiring celebration of grit, growth, and Greenback pride.

The senior center is having a Taco Night fundraiser on August 23 from 5-7 p.m. in Greensburg. Last year this was a great success and we are striving for that again! We will have carry-outs available!

A $10,000 grant from South Central Community Foundation (SCCF) to the Hope Center will bring energy assistance to 24 families, which include veterans, retired elderly, children and single moms struggling with food insecurity. This grant will also support three local charities: the Pratt County Food Bank, Pratt Area Humane Society, and the Pratt Health Foundation.
