Cost share assistance available for spay/neuter efforts

MANHATTAN, Kansas — The Kansas Department of Agriculture’s Division of Animal Health is pleased to announce the availability of funds in the form of cost share assistance to licensed companion animal facilities to help offset the cost of spaying and neutering cats and dogs in rural, unserved, and underserved Kansas communities. This funding was provided through state funding made available for emergency animal shelter expenses, and is intended to supplement services provided by the K-State Shelter Medicine Program.

KDOT warns about scam texts that demand payments

The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) is warning about a new scam circulating via text message. The texts falsely claim to be from KDOT and the Kansas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) giving a final notice of unpaid traffic tickets, and that enforcement will begin soon.

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Seven Jayhawks were named to the Shrine Bowl 1000 Preseason Watch List, the Shrine Bowl announced on Monday. The Shrine Bowl 1000 Watch List highlights 1,000 all-star game eligible players for the 2026 East-West Shrine Bowl and the 2026 NFL Draft class.
