Sometimes it just seems a little too much work to figure out right from wrong, bad from good, time to speak up or be quiet. As humans, many of us just want to coast along under the radar. Myself included! Live and let live, right? The less waves we make on the page of humanity the better off we will be, right?

U.S. Congressman Ron Estes (R-Kansas) released a statement following U.S. District Judge David Counts’ order to lift environmental protections for the lesser prairie-chicken. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) requested Judge Counts vacate the 2022 decision that listed the bird as an endangered species, and Judge Counts granted their request. In 2021, under the Biden administration, the FWS relisted the lesser prairie-chicken as a threatened and endangered species. In response, Rep. Estes introduced the Promoting Local Management of the Lesser Prairie-Chicken Actin 2022. Rep. Estes has been active on this issue since the beginning of his tenure in Congress.
Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma will proudly unveil its newest campus landmark thanks to the generosity of Liz Smith, Jeff Allen and Woody Glass. The public dedication will take place on Aug. 23 at 6 p.m. at the entrance to Ranger Field.

The United States Women’s National Team is set to make history in Kansas City this fall with its first-ever match at CPKC Stadium, the first stadium in the world purpose-built for a women’s professional team. The USWNT announced today that the match will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m. CT, with the opponent to be announced at a later date, as part of a three-match schedule during the FIFA international window. The match will be broadcast on TNT, TruTV and HBO Max in English, on Universo and Peacock in Spanish, and on Westwood One Sports Radio.

The Filley Art Museum is an art museum that can hold its own with most any art museum in the United States. (Or the world) I am privileged to volunteer there, and even though Wed. mornings, when I am there, are not the busiest, there are still some that drop by and tour, but of course weekends and afternoons are much busier, especially with the four museum Summer Passport Program where families can stamp their passport at each museum for free entry and win a goodies bag after visiting all four.
