Elected officials sworn in to duty

All around the state, elected officials are stepping up to positions confirmed by November 2024 elections. The Pratt County Clerk reported that Judge Francis E. Meisenheimer administered the oaths of office January 13 to Pratt County’s elected officials, including Sheriff Jimmy White, Commissioner Morgan Trinkle, Commissioner Rick Shriver, County Clerk Cescha Hoffman, County Attorney Tracey Beverlin, and Register of Deeds Sherry Wenrich.

Pastoral Commentary: There is enough evidence to believe in Jesus

Who Jesus is, is a big deal. Our salvation and our eternity depend on it. Our faith in God and His Word, the Bible, require us to believe what Jesus said about Himself. Consider these words of Jesus: Luke 22:66-71 (at His trial before the crucifixion) ‘They said, “If you are the Messiah, tell us.” But He said to them, “If I do tell you, you will not believe. And if I ask you, you will not answer. But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”

Baymont does Pratt proud

Perhaps it has been one of Pratt’s best kept secrets that the Baymont by Wyndham (704 Allison Lane) General Manager Megan Nixon was the hotel chains General Manager of the Year in 2023, but those who attended a Pratt Area Chamber Coffee Chat meeting last Thursday at the establishment learned that award is not the only high honor for the Pratt hotel.
