New wetlands proposal aims for long-term sustainability

STAFFORD COUNTY, Kansas — A proposal to resolve decades-long wrangling over water in central Kansas is slated for release this spring. The draft plan falls under a federal program that has under previous administrations traditionally opened doors to significant financial backing for water conservation projects.

Bailey is new owner of Rick’s

Leanah Bailey, new owner and manager of Rick’s Restaurant just west of Pratt on US Highway 54 loves feeding people. Even though there have been some bumps in her start as a restaurant owner in the past week, she couldn’t be happier about this new place she is at in her life.

Free developmental screening planned in Pratt

A free screening clinic for children from birth-to-5 will be held in Pratt to help parents determine if their child’s development is age-appropriate. The screening is planned for Friday, February 21st at the Pratt First United Methodist Church, 100 N. Jackson St. Appointments are necessary so appropriate screening can be accomplished.
