Emily Rugg crowned Miss Kansas 2025 in Pratt

Emily Rugg, Miss Meadowlark, is the 2025 Miss Kansas!

Miss Meadowlark Emily Rugg was crowned 2025 Miss Kansas after a week of special events, competitions, parade and pageantry the first week of June in Pratt. Thursday and Friday preliminary contests as well as the final Saturday competition were held in the Denis Lesh Arena at Pratt Community College in front of supportive crowds, all emceed by KWCHs television host Michael Schwanke.

Rugg, whose platform for her Community Service Initiative was Gap to Gain: Providing Professional Help for a stronger future, walked the runway in a periwinkle blue sparkling gown and gave a vocal performance of “I Who Have Nothing” for her talent number.

In the interview portion of the final competition on Saturday, June 7, Rugg spoke about unemployment in rural Kansas and how providing children with better early financial education resources could be a solution.

Top five finalists for the Miss Kansas 2025 crown were Miss Walnut Valley Katelyn Andrist, 1st runner up; Miss Sunflower Kirsten Stokes, 2nd runner up; Miss August Victoria Grace Pedruzzi 3rd runner up; and Miss Southern Kansas Alyna Chavez 4th runner up.

Miss Kansas Teen 2025 Bella Andra (Miss Heartland’s Teen) was crowned in a 2 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, June 7. Her talent was a self defense demonstration.
