Tune Your Heart
If it’s an instrument with strings…
And you pick it up to hear it sing…
It might need a tweak or two…
So it can hold a note for you…
And if an auto you would drive…
It needs be tuned… so you arrive…
The same is true of your heart…
To reach a goal set… from the start…
If one must walk a path that’s straight…
We need set a chart… and choose a gait…
And put good info… in our head…
So we can plunge on… straight ahead…
Now when it comes… to setting course…
One needs choose… the truest source…
But on my own… I cannot find…
My heart is crooked.. cripple and blind…
Yes it needs tuning…does my heart…
Each day I need…a brand new start…
So if my heart is tuned… to what’s right…
With humility…turned to Gods Holy Light…
For if I choose …my own path…
I’m sure to wreck…and burn…and crash…
If the way of man is what I choose…
It is certain… that I will lose…
So I’ll tune my heart… Gods truth is strong…

Where Have the Years Gone
Oh, where have the years gone…
As they’ve slipped on by…
Oh where have the years gone…
They’ve been fleeting…for you and I…
Those many years ago…how long has it been…
That we were lads…and called each other friend..
It seems that time… holds us hostage all today…
Until the hours… have been twittered all away…
Years were spent together… we call it now our youth…
Those days we were schooled…in order to learn truth…
We’re a bit more learned… and much older now…
With wrinkles on our face…and gray locks on our brow…
We’ve much more ex..per..iance…
Not a school of choice…but chance…
We’re much more tattered…than the day back then…
Our pencil a no. 2… and we dare not write with pen…
With our wife and children… we’ve written many a page…
With grandkids now added… they’ll soon call us…a sage…
How good it is… to look back or’e the years…
And remember… the blessings and the tears…
The greatest blessings… today we know and have…
Is that God… for us His Son He gave…
And that our name’s recorded…in Gods book above…
And share with others here below…the wonders of Gods love…
