Members of the Pratt BPOE #1451 Elks Lodge attended a ribbon cutting ceremony last week at the Ft. Dodge Soldiers Home near Dodge City. They met in Halsey Hall to celebrate financial support from the Lodge that helped pay for the recent installment of a 300-gallon aquarium.

Funds for this project were made possible by the Freedom Grant, Pratt Public Library’s past summer book sell, funds from the Kansas Elks Veteran Service and private donations totaling $6,000.

Veterans at the home are already enjoying the addition of the aquarium and enthusiastically took part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open this project to the public.

Pratt Elks Lodge members who attended the special event included Kenney Gates, Lodge Trustee and Ft. Dodge Soldiers Home VAVS State Deputy Representative, Tammy Coleman and Bev Aldrich, Lodge members.
