Pratt High School wrestlers from the girls’ and boys’ teams have been chosen for this week’s Athlete of the Week recognition. Thank you to the City of Pratt for their sponsorship of this special Tri-County Tribune feature.
Wendy Candia
Pratt High School wrestler Wendy Candia is the Tri-County Tribune’s female Athlete of the Week for week 3! Candia is leading a competitive Pratt team with multiple 1st place finishes in early season competition. At Douglass on December 13, Candia won her 130 lbs. Weight division and was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the Tournament. This week she was again 1st at 130 lbs. at the Wichita North Tournament against tough, tough competition!
Taye Wilson
Pratt High School senior wrestler Taye Wilson is the Tri-County Tribune week 3 Athlete of the Week pick, highlighting his seemingly effortless success. Wlson was 1st at the Douglass Invitational on December 14, and on December 21 he went 5-0 with 5 pins and a :19 finals match at Abilene. Wilson is currently ranked #1 in the state 4A Boys Rankings by KWCA.
