Barclay College Theatre in Haviland has announced its fall play production, “It’s a Wonderful Life.” This Christmas classic will warm the hearts of all who witness George Bailey’s transformation with the help of his bumbling Guardian Angel, Clarence.
“This show is a staple in so many homes at Christmastime. We are excited to bring the story to the stage and introduce it to a whole new generation,” said Director of Fine Arts Randi Shetley.
A cast of 40 Barclay college students, community members, and area children will bring to life this Christmas classic with lead rolls played by the following, as described by Shetley. Barclay College senior Admiral Henning plays George Bailey. His portrayal is fresh, yet with a bit of that James Stewart flair that everyone remembers. Freshman Maylin Brown plays Mary. She is a perfect fit with her sweet spirit and strong heart. David Smedley, a junior at Barclay College, rounds off this trio with his charismatic portrayal of Clarence Oddbody (Angel Second Class). The villainous Mr. Potter (whom we all love to hate) is played by Gale Rose of Pratt, Kansas.
Performance days and times include Saturday, November 16 at 7 p.m.,
Sunday, November 17 at 3 p.m., Friday, November 22 at 7 p.m., Saturday, November 23 at 7 p.m., Sunday, November 24 at 3 p.m.
Tickets are on sale now at barclaycollege.edu/wonderful, or they can be purchased 30 minutes before showtime at the door (while supplies are last). Email randi.shetley@barclaycollege.edu with any questions!
