USD 422 school board members hear about Haviland welding facility upgrades
In a meeting dominated by executive sessions, the USD 422 Board of Education met April 28, 2025 at 8:04 p.m. for their regular monthly meeting.

NRCS celebrates 90th year
The Natural Resources Conservation Service is celebrating its 90th anniversary in 2025. Before it was the NRCS it was the Soil Conservation Service and prior to that it was the Soil Erosion Service.

Jolly Workers 4-H Club makes plans for Jubilee, county fair
The monthly meeting of the Jolly Workers 4-H club was held on April 6th at 4pm at the St. John Annex. The meeting was called to order and pledges were led by Kyson Foote. The roll call question, what is the sound your favorite animal makes, was answered by 40 members, 3 leaders, and 1 guest. Chicken Jockey was the favorite answer.

Kansas 4-H official praises impact of volunteers in the state
MANHATTAN, Kan. – A Kansas 4-H official is praising the work of volunteers across the state, indicating that their contribution to the state’s largest youth leadership program is vital to the development of many Kansas kids.

Pratt baseball earns sweeps over Kingman and Hillsboro
The Pratt High School baseball team has continued to compete well in the regular season schedule. Most recently, they played against Kingman and Hillsboro in two doubleheaders, and they were able to sweep both squads.
