The Skyline Thunderbird softball team hosted the Blue Jays of Cimarron in a double-header on Friday, April 25. Always a tough draw for Skyline, the Lady Jays got their offense going just a little earlier in the first game. Both teams performed well at bat, with Senior Kory Anschutz leading Skyline with three hits (all singles). The Thunderbirds scored in the first inning with a steal home. However, at the top of the second inning, Cimarron took the lead 3-1. Both teams battled throughout, with the Jays coming out on top, 12-9. Corbin Armstrong took the loss on the mound for Skyline, with Sarah Reyes pitching three and two-thirds innings in relief. On offense, Armstrong provided momentum, leading the Birds with three runs batted in. Gaby Eubank (Senior) collected two hits in four at-bats. Skyline stole six bases in the contest, five of which were by Anschutz.
