Another View: The Book of Mormon and miracles in our lives

Jesus, having come to his “sheep of another fold”(1) in the new world, continued to teach them, giving the twelve disciples he had chosen and set apart authority to lead His Church there. Jesus taught repentance of sins and baptism for the remission of sins. He taught them how to bless and partake of the Sacrament, with bread in remembrance of his body and wine in remembrance of his blood. “And”, he said, “this shall ye always do … that ye may witness unto the Father that ye do always remember me.”(2)

Skyline track and field competes at Bill Keller Family Sports Complex

On Tuesday, May 6, Skyline hosted its home meet at the beautiful Bill Keller Family Sports Complex. As the schedule tradition dictates, it is always one of the last regular-season competitions before the Heart of the Plains League (HOPL) meet and Regionals. This year, HOPL will be hosted by South Barber High School at Kiowa on Thursday, May 15, and Regionals will be the following Thursday, May 22, at Kiowa County High School in Greensburg.

Ice Age Summit honored memory of departed artist

The Heart of America Science Resource Center hosted its Ice Age Summit in Haviland over the weekend of April 25-27. A central feature of the summit was the dedication of the Ice Age Room to Joe Taylor. Joe Taylor, who has since passed away, was a great proponent of creation science museums. He also painted the original of the mural in Ice Age Room. The mural in the room is an enlarged reproduction of the original painting by Taylor, which is also housed at Heart of America.
