Where are they now: Hook continues baseball passion as K-State manager

Kansas State University (KSU) junior and Pratt High School graduate Matthew Hook is proudly representing his Pratt baseball roots as a student equipment manager for the KSU baseball team, a team currently ranked 22nd in the nation. Hook played third base for Pratt High’s varsity baseball team and has great memories of his time there while playing for Head Coach Ron Hill.

History wasn’t that long ago at Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts

As those of you who regularly read my column know, I often include Presidents and other important men and women who have served our Nation in various ways. Much of what I write about is history, before I was born, but it occurs to me that I have reached an age when more Americans think of “history” as years I regard as “several years ago.”

Deucy and Stapleton crowned 3A State Powerlifting Champions

With a team composed of lifters of varying ages, the Pratt High School powerlifting squad has had a very successful year on both ends. The team, which has a squad of dedicated competitors, competed at the 3A State Powerlifting Meet on Saturday, March 29. There, all students lifted very well in three separate categories, and a couple of Greenbacks were crowned state champions.
