MANHATTAN, Kan. — Wildflowers offer variety and color to a home landscape. In addition to eye appeal, they can survive in soils containing a wide range of chemistry pH and with varying numbers of sunny days, adding variety to garden areas.
The Pratt High School boys’ basketball team recently concluded their historic 2024-25 season at the 4A State Tournament this past Wednesday. The team, which was led by Head Coach Chris Battin, competed hard against some of the best competition in the state of Kansas, but unfortunately just fell short in the opening round. A two-point loss was hard to take as the Greenbacks lost this game by a heartbreaking final score of 43-45 to Andale.

PRATT – The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks is now accepting proposals for the Chickadee Checkoff Small Grants Program through March 21. This initiative supports projects that enhance wildlife diversity and focus on native non-game wildlife species, while aligning with the issues and strategies identified in the Kansas State Wildlife Action Plan.

According to KDWP museum director Mackenzie Reh at the Pratt Education Center and Museum, some wild animal friends snuck into the museum after hours and left their tracks all over the place. She has invited kids and parents looking for spring break fun to come to the museum at 531 SE 25th Ave, Pratt, Kansas to help her identify the culprits.

TOPEKA — A major broadband provider and a coalition of smaller developers is not happy about lack of transparency at the Kansas Department of Commerce in awarding millions of dollars in state and federal funding to upgrade internet service in underserved areas of the state.
