Skyline Baseball traveled to Great Bend to play in their first-ever State Tournament against the number one-seeded Vikings of Mission Valley High School (Eskridge, Kansas).
On Saturday, June 1, visitors to Maxwell Wildlife Refuge will get the opportunity to view and photograph the brand-new baby bison as well as spring wildflowers.Visit the refuge to get a glimpse of the prairie as it was in the past and to see bison, elk, and other animals in their natural habitat.
In team rankings, the Kiowa County HIgh School boys tied for 2nd (with Quinter), riding high on scores from several events at the State High School Track Meet last weekend in Wichita at Cessna Stadium.Some highlights included the finals of the boys pole vault where Kaden Weseloh finished 3rd in 1A.Samuel Martinez, Mason Weseloh, Hunter Thompson, and Carter Kishpaugh set a new school record in the 4x800m relay with time of 8:28.58 and earned a place on the medal stand at state.In the boys 3200m run, Samuel Martinez finishes in 5th, and Mason Weseloh in 12th, earning yet more points towards that boys team trophy.But taking the cake and winning a state title were the boys 4x400 from Kiowa County who ran in their pink shoes and won a state championship title.
