Country Trailblazers 4-H Club New officers elected, state fair exhibitors recognized

Pratt County 4-H Club, the Country Trailblazers, met September 17 to plan the upcoming year.New officers elected were: President - Clayton Freeman, Vice President - Aaron Lucas, Secretary - Ruth Carter, Treasurer -Wiley Atteberry, Reporter - Marlee Kimbrough, Recreation - Amos Carter, Kinley Freeman and Jaxon Kimbrough, 4-H Council Representatives - Grace Swindler, Wiley Atteberry, Ruth Carter and Aaron Lucas.Club members with exhibits at the Kansas State Fair were also recognized.

Insurance company issues safety tips prior to peak animal collision season

With the most dangerous season of animal related vehicle collisions starting in October and running through December, it’s important to remember some basic safety tips to help prevent and minimize the impact of these sometimes inevitable encounters.From July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023, State Farm Insurance estimates Kansas drivers filed nearly 22,000 auto claims related to animal collisions.Drivers in West Virginia held on to the number-one spot with the least favorable odds at 1 in 38.
