The Stafford County Commissioners met as a Board of Canvass on Wednesday, November 16th, 2022, Chairman Wycoff called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. Present: Todd Wycoff, Bryce Garner, and Clayton Grimmett. Jim Stanford, Commissioner-Elect District #1 was also present.
Adulting 101 was held at St. John High School on Friday, November 4. The purpose of the event is to teach 7-11th grade student’s basic skills they will need when they leave high school. It is part of the school’s Career and Technical Education program. This year the Senior English class planned the morning. The English class was able to work on soft skills such as making telephone calls (communication), problem solving, time management, and teamwork. Volunteers from the community and school were the presenters for the morning. Each class went to five twenty-two minute classes.

David Skiles, of Sawyer, writes poetry when he is feeling sad, happy, out of sorts, thankful. It’s how he starts almost every day, with a cup of coffee and a open page where he can jot his thoughts down.
Pratt County farmers received about an inch of moisture from recent weather events, a quarter inch which came shortly after most had put their wheat in the ground. Add in the winter snow dusting of last week and some are hopeful that the moisture will have a positive affect on the coming wheat crop. But local farmer Brandon Riffey and Pratt County Research and Extension Agent Rhett Newby aren’t ready to say it is enough.

Every truck driver has one city that they hate to drive through. The one that I really hate to drive through is Oklahoma City. I don’t know if it has anything to do with all of those medical marijuana dispensaries but it won’t surprise me.
