Students with agriculture interests to benefit from scholarships offered by Scoular

Scoular Energy, with a branch in Pratt County, has demonstrated commitment to community where their employees live and work by announcing scholarships for agriculture development. Students demonstrating leadership in their community are among those who will benefit from Scoular Foundation scholarship funding for three Midwestern universities.

Sawyer visits St. John and Stafford County on campaign trail

During a whirlwind tour of more than 95 counties, and counting, Katie Sawyer, candidate for Lt. Governor in partnership with Attorney General Derek Schmidt for Governor, stopped in Stafford County. On Wednesday, October 26, after spending time with Carolyn Dunn and Stafford County Economic Development, Sawyer made a special stop at St. John High School to visit with the students who are making Tiger Bank a reality.

Stafford County Landfill and Recycling helps protect the environment

The Stafford County Landfill is located at 236 Northeast 10th Avenue. It is open from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. It accepts construction demolition from Stafford County, waste, metal and tires. The purpose of the landfill is to protect the environment by providing a controlled site to dispose of demolition waste, to encourage wisdom in the use of materials and chemicals in the home and business, and to promote cooperation in education and resource management. Darren Reed is the Landfill and Recycling Supervisor.

Men’s soccer wins back-toback region championships

Pratt, Kan. - The Beavers of Pratt Community College headed off to Iola, Kansas on Sunday, October 30 with one goal in mind. Defending their National Junior College Athletic Association Region VI Championship from a year ago and repeating as champions. Standing in their way for the second time was Allen County. The Red Devils held the #1 seed in the playoffs this year which granted them home field advantage throughout the post season.
