AG Derek Schmidt visits Pratt

Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt stopped in Pratt for coffee and conversation Friday, October 29 at Don’s Servateria on First Street. Introduced to a receptive crowd by former Pratt County Sheriff Vernon Chinn, Schmidt said these meet-and-greet occasions were important as they reminded him what was important to the people he serves and hopes to serve as future Governor of Kansas.

Local youth earn top awards in KJLS

The Kansas Junior Livestock Show got its start in November 1933, drawing 500 exhibitors and more than 1,000 head of livestock to the Wichita (Kan.) Forum. Since then, the 90-yearold event has stayed true to its heritage by continuing to be the largest youth livestock show in the state.This year, more than 700 exhibitors entered 1,422 animals in the show, which was held Sept.
