As holidays come and go, one of the most exciting things for me is to see all the wreaths change on my front door. My mother loves a decorated house, and to her, a wreath on the front door is like the perfect finishing touch. Although I never tell my mom, I’m so appreciative of her for taking the time to decorate our home because it looks beautiful. As a result, I, too, have an extreme passion for decorating.
Foundation The South Central Community Foundation (SCCF) awarded last week $54,714 in community, children’s health, teacher’s, and Pratt County Achievement Place Youth Development grants to Pratt County organizations this fall. The newly established Marjorie Gillig Grant was also awarded.

Head Coach of the Macksville High School boys basketball team Jeff Kuckelman is looking at about the best possible starting lineup as he has had in 21 years of very successful coaching at the 1A level of high school basketball.
Kiowa County High School is fielding a young boys basketball team this year, but Coach Matt Hoffman already has a pretty good idea who will be stepping up to lead the Mavericks. “Brady Deterding is our only senior with varsity experience and is looking to lead our team this year,” Hoffman said.
The Skyline High School boys’ basketball team is looking to progress on a solid season from last year. Head Coach Hagen Turner has expressed his excitement for this team, and he is preparing the boys every day in practice for what should be a successful season.

pcc/pcc-welding-holds-openhouse- new-facility Pratt Community College held an open house on November 15, 2022 to showcase the newly remodeled PCC Welding Technology facility. The shop is located in Pratt, Kansas in the Pratt Regional Airport Industrial Park in the space formerly occupied by Pioneer Tank and Steel.
