MANHATTAN — The Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, a part of the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine, has developed a new test for two major blood-borne diseases in cattle.

The unofficial tally for the Ladies Auxiliary Auction held last Saturday at Barclay College has been estimated at $115,000. This money, raised by donated items that were auctioned off to the public, will be earmarked for full tuition scholarships that are made available to Barclay students who commit to live on campus for their post-secondary education.
On October 7, 2022 at approximately 22:00 hours, the Stafford Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a 2018 Dodge Durango SRT in the 700 block of E U.S. Highway 50. Throughout the investigation of the stop the officer asked for the deployment of a K-9. A K-9 unit from the Hutchinson Police Department responded. The K-9 deployed and alerted to the odor of narcotics from inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle located multiple forms illegal registration, marijuana and a large sum of U.S. currency. The vehicle was also found to be stolen out of Chicago, Illinois.

September 20, 2022 marked the official count day for enrollment at USD 350. This year, we had 345 students enrolled and attending on count day. This is up one from last year. The average per grade is a little over 23 students. The high school has 92 students which puts us at class 1A for activities again this year. While we are seeing a slight declining trend, it is only in the neighborhood of a couple of kids per year.
