JAG-K program added for USD 350 students

JAG-K is a program that was recently added to USD 350 St. John-Hudson as an elective. JAG-K seems to be an amazing educational tool. It is a non-profit that partners with public schools to provide academic and positive support to show students that they can have a positive impact in the world outside of their schools. Something they show students are the businesses and colleges in the state. Their vision is to make a measurable difference to the nation, state, and also at the local levels. There are 104 programs in 76 schools in 50 districts as of 2022. The JAG-K program helps students with building their confidence, finding their dream careers, and networking with employers and students from other schools. JAG assists with academic support and helps with transitioning to post-secondary education or entering the workforce. JAG has been helping students in the United States since 1980 and in Kansas, since 2013. Their mission is to partner with students to overcome challenges to graduate from high school and prepare them for career pathways that will help them reach their full potential as leaders for their families, employers, communities, Kansas, and the nation.

Volunteers are an integral part of life for St. John seniors

Both Sandyland Shep- herd Center and Sunflower Senior Center are in need of volunteers to assist an hour or two once a week to keep the important programs needed by St. John Senior Citizens available. If interested, please call 620-549-3403 and talk with Sandy at Sunflower Senior Center. Sandyland Shepherd Center and I will work together to organize the volunteers. For instance, if you are among the many newly retired residents of the area, your hour or two would help a great deal.
