USD 350 holds career fair

On Monday, September 19, a fourth-sixth grade hands-on Career Fair was held at the Stafford County Annex in St. John. Senior students from Mrs. Joanna McAlister’s English class planned, organized, and facilitated the Career Fair.

Center provides socialization opportunities

Socialization is important for seniors as it improves mood, cognition, memory recall and is associated with healthy behaviors, including exercise. Socialization may reduce stress and isolation for seniors. Coffee and Conversation is officially scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. However, most mornings, there are people enjoying the conversation, friendship and coffee. Tuesday mornings homemade cookie aroma permeate the air. Come and enjoy!

KAKE & DeVaughn James Injury Lawyers find Macksville City Library for the win

Special to the News Every Sunday night during KAKE News televised broadcast at 10 p.m., KAKE, and DeVaughn James Injury Lawyers award a “Wins for Kansas” $500 grant to a deserving non-profit organization in the Wichita area. With this program, local organizations receive community- wide recognition for the ways they support, motivate, and give back.

Western Day a wild success for locals

Live country music, mellow Native American flute tones and the occasional whistle of the Pilot Express Train set the mood for a fun, relaxing Western Day celebration at Pratt’s Sixth Street Park on Saturday. An annual event sponsored by the Pratt Pilot Club International, Western Day was an opportunity for families with children to get outdoors and enjoy activities like corn hole, horseshoe tossing, balloon darts, roping, drumming, dancing, and of course, free play on the near-by inclusive play equipment.
