Small town collaboration helps families keep track of kids during work hours

Haviland is a small town that is filled with lively families including their children who need a place to go when parents head to work or when they are too young to be left at home alone. Luckily, Haviland Grade School, Haviland Recreation and the Daycare Center are in collaboration to fill the needs of these working parents and their children. Currently there are only a few families who attend the after school program run by Jana Hawkins, but the hope is that the program will grow as word travels around town.

It’s a wide world, and Czech

What does it mean to cross the great blue ocean— to bridge the gap between past and present? That is a question I sought to answer when my wife and I made trip to the Czech Republic (aka Czechia) recently (also staying overnight in both Bratislava, Slovakia and near Freiberg, Germany). The Czech lands have drawn me for several years now.
