This fall, Pratt High School Girls’ Golf is looking to build off a solid previous year in 2021. They have already been preparing and practicing diligently to ensure that they have another successful season.

The USD 350 St. John-Hudson High School cross country team is off to a good start with pre-season workouts, led by lastyear’s state qualifying competitors Josh Chapman and Quade Smith.

Macksville High School cross country coach Mike Hullman is disappointed that more student-athletes are not taking the opportunity to join the team this year, but strong leadership on the girl’s side will pave the way to a potentially great year.

Skyline coaches Mike Neifert and Pam Lucas are optimistic about returning letterwinners, experienced performers and new additions to the 2022 cross country girls and boys teams. “This season is off to a great start.

A talented group of solid athletes leads the way for Pratt High School to continue their steady improvement in the Central Kansas football League this year. Coach Brent Hoelting and the Greenbacks went 6-3 last year, after rebuilding through two tough 2-7, 3-6 years.

The St. John High School football team enter the 2022 season having won just two of the last 38 games, both in the 2020 season. Last season was particularly challenging as they scored just 38 points on the season and all of that came in three games. SJHS was shut out in six contests.

Macksville High School’s head football coach Kyle Bright, along with assistant coaches Tanner Tranbarger and Jeff Kuckelman are excited to back on the field working with 21 football players since the start of practice Saturday, August 13.

Throughout the sum- mer of 2022, the Pratt High School volleyball team has been steadily practicing and improving their game to hopefully lead a solid season this fall. This summer, the girls have been hard at work in both the weight room and on the court. They have had summer camps, which have allowed them to maintain and improve their skills and team bonding.

Macksville High School volleyball head coach Jennifer Gillespie and assistant Taylor Casper can’t wait to capitalize on the experience they have coming back to the court this year for the Mustangs. “Last year’s season ended with a first round sub-state victory over Minneola and a second round loss to Kiowa County in the Hodgeman County Sub-State won by eventual state champion, Spearville,” Gillespie said.
