IRVING, Texas (AP) — Defending Big 12 champion Baylor has been tabbed as the preseason favorite to win the conference title again, based on a poll of media who cover the league. It is the first time Baylor has been favored in the preseason vote.
Two area athletes have been named “Catchy Awards” candidates and local votes are needed to bring recognition to these top south central Kansas athletes. Livia Swift, Pratt High School girls wrestler and Addi Heinson, Kiowa County High School track sprinter have made KSNs Catch it Kansas honored lists. The Pratt High School girls wrestling team is also up for a team award.

The Board of Education of Unified School District No. 422, State of Kansas, Kiowa County, met for a regular meeting at the school district office, 710 S. Main Street in Greensburg. The meeting was called to order by President Ki Gamble at 7:02 a.m.
The Kiowa County Senior Center is a non-profit organization serving the needs of senior citizens in Kiowa County. Their goal is keeping seniors in their homes as long as possible by providing healthy meals, delivered if necessay.
Two authors who live on opposite coasts of the United States will come to Kansas in October to accept the 2022 William Allen White Children’s Book Awards. Voters in Grades 3 through 5 selected “Wildfire” by Rodman Philbrick. Voters in Grades 6 through 8 selected “The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise” by Dan Gemeinhart.
On May 6, the PCC Foundation held its 34th Annual Scholarship Auction inside the Dennis Lesh Sports Arena. Around 370 people attended which is a new record. A goal of raising $90,000 had been set, but when it was all over, $101,501 was raised, a 113% achievement for incoming PCC students.
