On Friday July 15, the Board of Directors at Pratt Regional Medical Center voted not to retain the services of Darrell Lavender, the hospital’s CEO. Lavender had served as CEO following the retirement of Susan Paige who led the organization for 27 years. The Kansas State Board of Nursing has approved Barclay College in Haviland to offer the traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. The Barclay School of Nursing has now submitted the program to the accreditor, and the program is pending approval by the Higher Learning Commission (H.L.C.).
Two Pratt County students are among the fall 2021 and spring 2022 graduates of Fort Hays State University as announced July 18 by FHSU University Communications in Hays. Bailey Lauren Batman, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, while Payje Marie Dymond, graduated with a Bachelor of General Studies degree.
