High school students from across the State of Kansas will be participating in the 2022 session of the American Legion Boys State of Kansas, Sunday, June 5, through Saturday, June 11, at Kansas State University in Manhattan. The event, in its 84th year, returns to its traditional early June dates after last year’s session was postponed to early August due to the coronavirus pandemic.

MANHATTAN, Kansas — Cali Newdigger from the Skyline FFA chapter was elected to serve as the 2022–23 State FFA Reporter at the 94th Kansas FFA Convention June 1–3, 2022, on the Kansas State University campus. Newdigger was among six candidates elected to a state officer position to represent 10,866 Kansas FFA members.

The St. John Jubilee Historical Scavenger Hunt began at 9 a.m., Saturday, May 28, at the Information Booth near the fountain in the Square and ended before the start of the annual Jubilee Parade. This new event was the collaboration of creative student minds and city leaders who were on board with bringing something new to the annual St. John event.

Two of the good guys got to experience the trip of a lifetime recently as part of an Honor Flight brigade from Kansas. Lonnie Detmer and Dean Hoover along with their family escorts - son, Dan Detmer and daughter, Denise Halleran, were part of the 90th Kansas Honor Flight that left Wichita on May 9 for a two-day trip to Washington D.C.
