Golden Belt Community Foundation looks ahead to Giving Tuesday campaign

Giving Tuesday is fast approaching and will be on Tuesday, November 29, 2022. Planning for this year’s Giving Tuesday has started at the Golden Belt Community Foundation office in Great Bend. Again, this year the foundation is inviting all qualified charitable organizations in Barton, Pawnee, Rush, and Stafford counties to participate in the giving campaign and celebration.

City hears audit report; approves fireworks purchase request

The Greensburg City met Monday, June 6 to discuss multiple items of business. The council opened with prayer over their decisions and then went on to roll call. Council persons Pam Reves and Chance Little were absent, but the council still met in order to hear the 2021 audit report. This audit report was presented by Jim Kennedy from Kennedy and Mckee. He reported they had minimal problems when conducting the audit, and had no disagreements with management either. Kennedy stated that the financial condition of the city improved during 2021 with increases in revenue and unencumbered available funds.

Clark enjoys Miss Kansas year to the fullest

St. John native Taylor Clark has come to the end of her reign as Miss Kansas 2021, but it is not as bittersweet as one might think. Looking back, she has seen her own growth as a person in maturity, and looking forward she still has drumming to spur her on. This weekend Clark will be part of the Miss Kansas 2022 Competition, but this time she will not be judged, she will be performing, encouraging and celebrating accomplishments made as a successful title holder.
