Kansas State University announces State Entrepreneurship Challenge winners, top competitors

A student entrepreneurship competition featuring 61 high school and eight community college teams from across Kansas has awarded entrepreneurial-minded students $75,000 in prize money. The Kansas Entrepreneurship Challenge gave students experience in the process of making a business proposal and pitching their ideas.

New purchases and “The Beakery” school cafe’ plan presented at USD 438 BOE meeting

Several purchases and presentations were discussed at Skyline Schools’ Monday, May 5th Board of Education meeting. The first of these was a presentation by teacher Taylor Stratford and a couple of her students. They proposed a new school business, called “The Beakery”. This business would be a school café where students could get a variety of snacks. If approved, this business would be put in effect during the 2022-23 school year.

Dunlap honored as Kansas Scholar

At the invitation of Kansas Governor Laura Kelly, Sierra Dunlap of Pratt, Kansas, was selected to attend the 39th Annual Governor’s Scholars Awards Program on May 1, 2022 in Topeka. The recognition ceremony honors the top academic one percent of Kansas high school seniors each year.

Worship God, not the Bible

For many people of faith, there is a great love of the Bible – and for good reason! The Bible is a treasure trove of stories about God interacting with humanity, it is a rich resource for learning how our ancestors in the faith made difficult decisions, it contains beloved prayers, it is the source of many of our favorite words of hope, and it makes freely available teachings that have benefitted the entire world. I give thanks to God for this good book! Do you as well?
