MANHATTAN, Kan. — A natural way to keep gardens safe from hungry pests is to employ the help of praying mantids. K-State entomologist Raymond Cloyd said this top predator of the insect world can be beneficial to a home garden.

Graduation weekend at Barclay College came and went with a beautiful finish to the school year. The graduation festivities began with a morning Baccalaureate ceremony and a commissioning done with graduates, faculty, and staff. Then the commencement ceremony occurred at three p.m. with a procession of the graduates as well as teachers in their scholastic regalia across the campus.
The nine Leadership Golden Belt classes are set for 8 a.m. to noon on consecutive Tuesdays, starting June 7 and ending Aug. 2. Six of the classes will be held in Great Bend, and one each in St. John, La Crosse and Larned.

The senior class of Macksville High School celebrated at their 2022 Prom on April 30, making memories along with their friends that will last a lifetime. Senior Yobanny Martinez Villa said in a school interview that one of his favorite memories of all time was being with friends at the After Prom and laughing.
There was no Stafford County Board of County Commission meeting held April 27, 2022, due to the commissioners attending the Kansas County Commissioners Association conference in Salina. However, the Stafford County Commissioners met in a special session on April 29, 2022.
According to information from the Pratt Police Department, as released by Detective Jeff Ward, a 19-year-old Pratt man was arrested April 27, 2022 on charges relating to the unlawful possession of child pornography and the aggravated trafficking of child pornography through the internet.
