Alyssa Monroe, a senior at Kiowa County High School, was announced Tuesday by Jobs for America’s Graduates ( JAG) as one of five Kenneth M. Smith Scholars nationwide who will receive $10,000 toward their college education.

For the first time in several years, Pratt High Forensics won over Pretty Prairie - a small, but mighty, school that has beat the Greenbacks by mere points throughout the last three years. Pratt won with 102 points followed by Pretty Prairie in an intense one-point competiton at 101. Halstead came in third with 95 points at the 12- team tourney.
The ISEF Kansas State Fair was held April 1 and 2, 2022 at Cessna Activity Center in Wichita. USD 382 had seven students participating and they all did very well.
Addison Sherer, a Kiowa County High School senior, has been selected as a recipient of the Bucklin Tractor & Implement (BTI) Agriculture Scholarship. This scholarship program prioritizes students who are affiliates of their local FFA chapter and are actively involved in school and community activities. This scholarship also considers the high school student’s leadership, academic achievements, and career goals. Each applicant completes an essay that addresses how agriculture has affected their development, characteristics, lifestyle, and work ethic.
