The buying power of Americans is being squeezed more and more each day. You must explain what’s happening and put responsibility where it belongs. As America slouches toward the midterm elections, you need an economic message that celebrates your accomplishments to date — job creation and higher wages — yet also takes aim at the major abuses of economic power that are fueling inflation and widening inequality.

Confidence in Kansas Public Education Task Force announces 2021 Challenge Award recipients

Macksville — The Confidence in Kansas Public Education Task Force has named 92 schools, including Macksville Elementary School, as recipients of the 2021 Challenge Awards. The awards recognize Kansas schools that are making a notable difference in student achievement despite facing significant challenges in their school population.

Credit Union of America gives FHSU students scholarship awards

Credit Union of America (CUA) recently announced the gifting of 11 student scholarships totaling $22,000. Scholarship applicants must be 24 years old or younger, a high school senior or undergraduate college student, have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA, be a current CUA member in good standing, and write a 500-word essay on financial literacy and one of the seven credit union cooperative principles. Applications are reviewed blindly by a volunteer team comprised of CUA employees from across the state.

Music Theatre Wichita honors Kansas high school productions with Jester Award nominations

Music Theatre Wichita has announced nominees for the 20th Annual Jester Awards, a program designed to celebrate excellence in high school musical theatre.
