Pratt women see end of basketball season come in 63-54 loss in Region VI Tournament

Arkansas City, Kan. – The Pratt Community College (PCC) women’s basketball team traveled to Cowley College (CC) to take on the Tigers in the first round of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region VI tournament. The Beavers had already faced the Tigers last week on Wednesday, February 23rd for sophomore night. After a slow start, Pratt fought their back into the game but lost 61-49.

Pratt boys take 15th at state wrestling tournament

The Greenback boys’ wrestling team finished in 15th out of 57 teams on Saturday. The goal is always to be in the top 10, which is a big accomplishment in the 4A tournament. We were on our way to break into the top ten when one of our hammers, Taye Wilson was injured in his consolation semifinal match, which he was winning. Horrible timing for a kid with a dream who was working his tail off to get his best placement.

Food truck to expand Mexican cuisine into sit-down facility in Pratt

The Taqueria Chavez Food Truck, located straight south of the intersection of First Street (U.S. Highway 54/400) and U.S. Highway 61 on the east side of Pratt, is expanding their business. Open on weekdays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Nancy Diaz and crew have been serving authentic Mexican food from their food trailer for more than a year now. They are moving into the former Creative Memories building located just east of where their food truck sits and will provide sit-down options for customers.
