One day when I was babysitting my 4-year-old grandson, we were watching a YouTube video about toys and an individual was demonstrating how this particular toy worked. When an ad came up on the screen interrupting our video. I quickly grabbed the remote to press the button “skip ad” but my grandson said “No! Wait Mimi, I like this guy so let it play so they will get paid” Confused for a moment I was shocked that my young grandson knew how the economy of YouTube worked. Furthermore I was surprised he already sensed his own economic power at four years old by just “NOT” clicking a button.
