Mustang gals win over the Coyotes

Macksville (10-6, 1-1 CPL) led 16-6 after the first quarter eight minutes before outscoring the Kinsley Coyotes 13-7 in the second quarter for a 29-17 advantage at halftime From there, the Lady Stangs were able to widen their lead on their way to the 37-point win. Kambry Adams led the Lady Stangs with 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 steals. Mayce Russell added 13 points, 3 assists and 7 steals. Senior Abi Ibarra ended with 6 points, 7 steals, and 3 assists. Junior Joselin Garcia added 9 points, 4 assists, 2 blocks, and 5 steals. The Lady Stangs’ next match-up is against the Lady Aces of Bucklin.

Free tax help is skimpy for those needing that service in Pratt

Pratt citizens who used to get their taxes figured for free at the Pratt Senior Center under the RSVP organization are no longer able to get that service this year. According to Tara Pagenkopf, who started as the Director of RSVP just last week, the retirement of Tiffany Ailstock in December 2021 created a void that could not be filled due to the timing of training needed.

Pratt County Commission

At the February 7, 2022 meeting of the Pratt County Commission Tracy Beverlin, Pratt County Attorney, presented her Annual Case Summary Data and Pratt County Crime Index Summary. “2021 was a busy year with new case filings and working through the back-log of cases that were on hold during most of 2020,” Beverlin said.”We see that 2021 showed an increase in juvenile, Child in Need of Care, and Care and Treatment filings.”

Water damage wreaks havoc at The Front Porch

Water cascading from the ceiling into the main gathering area of the front room and standing inches-deep in the north foyer of The Front Porch last week was a shocking sight for Scott Powell. Powell, along with members of the Abundant Harvest Church of the Nazarene and several other congregations have put in countless hours of volunteer labor to renovate the old Ayers-Calbeck Mortuary building into a community gathering place with WiFi capabilities and conducive to positive connections.
