GIVING TUESDAY – Golden Belt Gives Campaign raises over $339,000 for area non-profits

GOLDEN BELT COMMUNITY Foundation just completed its eighth Giving Tuesday campaign, wrapping up and announcing the results during a Great Bend Chamber of Commerce Coffee Thursday morning. Giving Tuesday started as a day for anyone, anywhere to give, and it has grown into the biggest giving movement in the world.

Local musicians share the talents with Parkwood residents in special Christmas concert

A GROUP OF PRATT COUNTY musicians brightened up the holidays for residents, staff and family members at Parkwood Village this past Sunday. Gracie Bronson, Duane Hanks, Nancy Kerr, Libby Schaffer, and Kahrie Stegman all lent their musical talents in a special Christmas concert, which was organized by Hanks.

Kansas Geological Survey to measure groundwater levels in western Kansas

LAWRENCE — A crew from the Kansas Geological Survey, based at the University of Kansas, will be in western Kansas measuring groundwater levels the first week of January 2022. Levels are measured annually as part of a joint project conducted by the KGS and the Kansas Department of Agriculture’s Division of Water Resources (DWR) to monitor the health of the state’s valuable groundwater resources.

Reimer Becomes First Kansan to Earn International CMP Certification

A Pratt person has become the first Kansan to earn the internationally-recognized “Communication Management Professional” (CMP) certification. Last month, Nadia Reimer – Chief of Public Affairs and Engagement Officer for the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks – recently sat for and passed the Global Communication Certification Council’s (GCCC) CMP exam. An initiative of the International Association of Business Communicators, the GCCC tests candidates from around the world on competencies related to: Ethics, Consistency and Strategic Implementation, Research and Analysis, Strategy and Engagement, and Measurement.
