Local musicians share the talents with Parkwood residents in special Christmas concert

A GROUP OF PRATT COUNTY musicians brightened up the holidays for residents, staff and family members at Parkwood Village this past Sunday. Gracie Bronson, Duane Hanks, Nancy Kerr, Libby Schaffer, and Kahrie Stegman all lent their musical talents in a special Christmas concert, which was organized by Hanks.

Could have been worse, Pratt County escapes with minor damage from wind

IT WAS A RARE and forceful wind that blew through Pratt County last Wednesday, with gusts clocked at over 65 mph at times by the U.S. National Weather Team at Dodge City. Pratt was lucky, in most respects, to have had minimal damage in comparison to what occurred elsewhere during the storm that covered the entire state at one point or another.

Students in Kiowa County are serving local communities

STUDENTS IN KIOWA County involved in the JAG-K program (Jobs for America’s Graduates-Kansas) have kept busy this semester by making an effort to be visible in the community with many service projects around the county. JAG-K hopes to help students prepare students for successful futures, and a big part of their program is helping the community by volunteering for at least 10 hours throughout the year. A few of the community service projects included volunteering in and around the school, at Care and Share, at the Greensburg.

USD 382 approves international trip

THE DECEMBER 13, 2021 Board of Education Meeting included many new alterations and news topics, and also a variety of personnel changes. To kick it off, PHS Teacher Brent Hoelting reviewed the elements and highlights of a trip for students that is scheduled to go to Switzerland and Italy. This trip was approved from the motion of Donna Hoener-Queal and Jeremy Demuth, and is scheduled to happen in March of 2023.
