Christmas spirit, community love on display in Iuka

MARSHA GIGGY loves Iuka, especially at Christmas. As mayor of this small Kansas town located just six miles north of Pratt, population 185, Giggy said that any idea the town can use to draw interest and excitement to the community is a win-win event. Last Saturday’s annual Christmas With Santa event filled her wishes for community love and spilled over in a variety of ways.

AS THE secretary of the Kansas Department of Agriculture, I regularly talk with farmers, ranchers, agribusiness owners, and other stakeholders across the state. Sadly, the issues of ag stress, mental health and even suicide have been at the forefront of many discussions over the past three years.
