Golden Belt Beef hosts open house on 281

 September 14 – Golden Belt Beef near St. John is hosting an official grand opening event at The Red Shed, 1105 US Hwy. 281, St. John on Thursday, September 14 from 5-8 p.m. There will be special deals on beef, bouncy house fun for children, cocktails, hamburgers on the grill and good times for all. Stop by for a visit! 

Developmental screening for kids

September 15 – Arrowhead West, Inc and South-Central Kansas Special Education Cooperative District join forces to host a free developmental childhood screening clinic on Friday, September 15 at the Greensburg Mennonite Church, 310 W. Pennsylvania Ave. in Greensburg. Appointments are required so an appropriate screening can be accomplished. To schedule an appointment to have your child screened please call (620) 672-7500.

Pet Appreciation Day Event

September 16 – Tractor Supply is having a Pet Appreciation Day on September 16 with the Pratt Humane Society. There will be Pet Adoption’s with a gift bag from Tractor Supply for every Pet Adopted that day. Any donations for the Humane Society will be greatly appreciated. Come by and see all the pets. Adoption pre-approvals may be arranged so that you can take your pet home with you to that day if you would like. Just go on the website or call the Pratt Humane Society and they will get you the information on what you need to do. Event will be from 10 a.m. till 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 16 in Pratt.

PRMC Health Fair is coming soon

September 16 – Pratt Regional Medical Center will host a health fair from 7-11 a.m. on Saturday, September 16. Don’t miss: Blood Draws and Lab Work, Bike Helmet Giveaway, Operation Red Flag, Health Ins. Counseling, Driving Impaired Course, Face Painting, and indoor and outdoor vendors, all at 200 Commondore, Pratt, Kansas.

Pratt Police Dept vs. Pratt Fire Department Softball Fundraiser

September 17 – Come to Green Sports Complex on Sunday, Sept 17 for a Youth Core Ministries fundraiser and fun time with local law enforcement and firefighters.

This is for moms

September 21 – Join the other moms in Haviland and enjoy great company and yummy food. Something for Moms 2.0 takes place on Thursday, September 21, 2023; 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Haviland Friends Church.

Job fair coming to Pratt

September 27 – Pratt Area Chamber of Commerce and Pratt Area Economic Development Corporation will jointly host an area wide job fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27 at the Pratt Municipal Building, 117 W. 3rd St., Pratt, KS 67124. This will be an opportunity for local Pratt area businesses to meet with prospective job seekers and exchange information about available open positions. There will also be workshop sessions available for attendees to gain more knowledge about resume building, interview tips and tricks, dressing to impress, and a Q&A panel. September 30 – Oktoberfest in Pratt will be Saturday, September 30 at Lemon Park. Be sure to save the date and get ready for some beer barrel fun.

Kiowa County announces Annual Ladies Auxiliary Auction, October 6-7

October 6 – Auction items may be dropped off at Hockett Auditorium on Friday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday, starting at 7:30 a.m. A full schedule of events begins Friday evening with a hamburger/hot dog feed in Haviland, followed by an alumni soccer game at Barclay Soccer Field. Saturday events start with breakfast at 8:30 a.m. (food available all day) and the annual quilt and other items auction at 9 a.m. There will be Kiddie Carnival rides, more quilts to auction, and an open rehearsal of the fall theatre production of Two From Galilee.

Oktoberfest Stafford Kansas

October 6 & 7 – It’s time for the 34th Annual Stafford Oktoberfest! Food Vendors (Main and Broadway) open at 5 p.m. on October 6 with a 7 p.m. opening at the Beer Garden (West of City Office), Music Bingo (Beer Garden). On October 7, vendors begin setup on Main Street at 7 a.m., with Oktoberfest Booth Open (Main and Broadway). At 9 a.m. streets will be blocked off and cleared for the parade and other events. – Vendors Open (Main Street), Methodist Church Book Sale (Methodist Church), Sign-up starts for multiple contests (Oktoberfest Booth).

Bixler plans welding workshop at Art Barn

Hot and Cold Big Rig Truck Show

October 7 – Presented by Southwest Truck Parts, Inc. in Pratt from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. There will be a Big Rig Truck Convoy through town at 10 a.m., followed by face painting, train rides, sand pit, sno cones, cotton candy, kid zone. All Free! Plus live music, fireworks, laser light Show, and food trucks! Free will donations go to local charities and organizations. Located in the lot north of Wal-Mart in Pratt, Kansas.

Pratt Jam 2023 Dog Walk

October 14 – Doggies, grab your leashes and your humans and come enjoy Sixth Street Park, the Pratt Jam and our first Dog Walk in the Park. The first 50 dogs to enroll will get a Pratt Jam doggie bandana. The event requires a $10 Pratt Jam wristband, which also gets you into the beer garden and all the music festivities. Pratt Jam 2023 packed with fun plans

October 14 – Pratt Jam 2023 will take place Saturday, October 14 at Sixth Street Park. Plans include train rides, yoga in the park, dog walk, arts and crafts vendors under the trees, DJ music, food trucks, kids fair, cheerleaders, car show, and Lucky Man Band.
